The train to York took about two hours. I was pretty delirious at this point. I arrived at York at about 11:30 am and walked to my hotel to at least drop off my bag. I was able to actually check-in, though, which was such a relief! I stayed at The Georgian House in York.

It was on a busy street, so hard to get a good pic!

After relaxing for a minute in my room, I went out to get food. It didn't even really matter what it was (I was sooo hungry), but I walked quite a while to get some fish and chips at Drake's, which is highly rated. I didn't want to eat on the street (it's just a takeaway spot), so I walked back to my room and sat on the floor and enjoyed it!

I decided to take a nap at that point because I was really struggling. I used to never nap on the day of my arrival and just stay up until about 8:30 pm and sleep through the night. I can't do that anymore! I slept for a couple hours and then went back out in search of a baked good. Nearby to my hotel was Aly's Bakery and I got a piece of cheesecake and it was good! I walked the city walls for a bit and got my first glimpses of the cathedral.

I was just still so tired, so went back to my room fairly early. I didn't take photos or a video of my room at the bed and breakfast, so that's sad. I do have a story saved on Instagram of it, though.

Anyhow, more tomorrow!
