Eastbourne, Beachy Head, & the Seven Sisters Cliffs

I had some eggs, toast, and coffee at a place called Dickens Tea Cottage this morning in Eastbourne. It was precious inside. Look how cute.

The atmosphere and friendly staff are what this place has going for it. The food and coffee were so completely basic, unfortunately. I wouldn't recommend what I had; maybe other things are better.

I was off to find the Hop On Hop Off bus in Eastbourne, which would take me to two places nearby--Beachy Head and Seven Sisters Cliffs.

Both were magnificent.

This is Beachy Head. It kind of surprised me, because you're walking and the sea is so pretty, and then all of a sudden you see the lighthouse and you're like, "Oh wow!" Such beautiful views both ways from Beachy Head. In one direction is Eastbourne and in the other is Seven Sisters.

Seven Sisters is certainly the star of the show around here.

Seven Sisters is so-called because the story goes sailors thought from the sea that the peaks looked like girls lifting their skirts!

I have a lot of pics and they all look the same. They are amazing! I couldn't stop taking photos. I walked and relaxed for quite a while here. I had cream tea in the café (a scone with clotted cream and jam, and a pot of tea).

It was a dream to be here. Sometimes when I visit places that I think a lot about before I go, I can't help but talk to myself out loud while I'm there. Maybe that's weird, but it is what it is. This time I found myself saying, "I am actually here. I did it." It was more like, "I fucking did it." As if it's some kind of feat to do this. (It's not.) But I am proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone and figuring shit out and living my life and doing what I want to do. Life is too short.

I will look back on Seven Sisters with emotion. It was so beautiful. I will visit again.
